Bryan Cranston Voices The Ford “Men’s Only” Commercial

By | March 11, 2023

For International Women’s Day 2023, Ford actually had a great idea: introducing their new advertisement with an obvious contradiction, presenting the new Ford Explorer “Men’s Only” edition. The voice narrating the commercial is famous actor Brian Cranston, who is busy explaining all the missing parts in the car. It seems to have something to do with the fact that it’s “Men Only.” Let’s understand better what happened!

You can watch the Ford “Men’s Only” Explorer 2023 advertisement released for International Women’s Day 2023 below.

Bryan Cranston is the voice actor in the Ford “Men’s Only” Explorer commercial

The idea behind the ad was to celebrate lesser known women’s creations by imagining an absurd “men only” edition of the Ford Explorer where all the parts ever found were missing. Therefore, viewers are surprised to find that the car they are watching has one “no windshield wipers, no heater, no turn signals, no mirrors, and no GPS.” The surprised voice telling all this is one American actor Bryan Cranston. And of course, Ford writes plainly in the ad as well “This vehicle is not really for sale.”

Bryan Cranston is not new to humorous advertising. Just weeks before this Ford ad, he crushed competition for the 2023 Super Bowl ad with a “Breaking Bad” ad for Popcorners. After all, his role as Walter White / Heisenberg in that TV series is still one of the most defining of him as an actor.

Cranston has been a narrator for Ford Commercials for many years. In 2018, he is also physically present in the “Built Ford Proud” commercial., where the figure was 3D scanned and added on over the duration of the commercial. The voice role in the 2023 commercial is just the latest part of a long-running collaboration between him and Ford.

Among other hilarious commercials that Bryan Cranston has interpreted in the past, you’ll remember the Mountain Dew Zero ad released for the 2020 Super Bowl, in which he plays a parody of Light, which should be “as good as the original”. You can watch it again here on Youtube.

And, maybe it’s too obvious to say that: no valid product can exist in this world without the contributions of women and men, of course.
